Belong in Bermondsey
Client : Grosvenor
Agency : Small Back Room, London
Role : Design Director
Grosvenor bought a large site upon which Peak Freans, the iconic biscuit factory, once stood. They intend to build housing, offices, a school, community hubs and new access routes to Bermondsey’s existing attractions. The public consultation brand began by drawing influence from the area itself through a photographic audit and interviews with locals. The immense sense of pride in the area was a reoccurring theme, which led to the creation of Grosvenor’s call to arms. ‘Belong in Bermondsey’ became the focus for the campaign and all engagement activity. The brand drew influence from the character of the area, using typography, colour and texture found in the local environment to create a look and feel that was rooted in the place.
